SUSTAINABILITY

Proof of the Pudding is committed to environmental and social responsibility in our day to day operations. We believe that we have an obligation to create events in a way which conserves natural resources and protects our environment. With Proof of the Pudding, you can have exceptional, ecologically responsible events without sacrificing style.

Here’s how we keep it GREEN:

FARM TO PLATE

Our Culinary and Sales team centers on fresh farm to plate, fruits and vegetables, sustainable seafood and natural organic meats. We partner with purveyors to use locally-sourced, organic, and sustainable products.

THE GREEN TEAM

Our organization contributes to increasing our efficiency and reducing our impact on the environment, in ways both big and small. Here is our Green Punch list that we take care of:

  • Recycle & Compost whenever possible
  • Do not use styrofoam
  • Use low flow spray valves in the kitchen for water conservation
  • Only use recycled & chlorine-free paper
  • Use energy saving lightbulbs
  • Use GRA-Endorsed Sterno Fuel
  • Offer biodegradable disposables made with 100% pre-consumer waste recycled paper
  • Print on 100% post-consumer recycled paper
  • Work with printers who are dedicated to supporting the environment and use recycled and FSC certified paper, soy inks and eco-conscious printing processes
  • Work with the U.S. Green Building Council
  • Recycle our used cooking oil
  • Educate clients and employees on ways to make an event eco-friendly

SUSTAINABILITY

Proof of the Pudding has identified Sustainability as one of our top priorities as a company. We are working with all Proof of the Pudding locations and departments to help reduce their environmental footprint, reduce waste, and encourage healthy eating choices.  As part of this initiative, Proof of the Pudding is moving towards zero landfill waste from our events and has requested that we implement the following action items:

“No Styrofoam” Policy:

Proof of the Pudding prohibits the use of Styrofoam packaging or service ware with any food delivery or at any of our events/venues.  All locations are required to comply with this policy.

Sustainability Food Designation on Menus:

To support our commitment to sustainable and local food procurement, we encourage you to label all of your menu items with regards to:

  • Locally-grown food (we will use the 8-state Southern region of FL, GA, NC, SC, AL, MS, TN, KY)
  • Sustainability certified food ingredients (USDA organic, Fair Trade, humanely raised, Monterrey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch “best” or “good” for the Southeast, hormone and antibiotic free, grass-fed, or Fair Food)
  • Vegetarian choices, vegan choices, gluten-free choices, and heart-healthy choices (emphasizing fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat
dairy products, fish and nuts, while limiting red meats and sugar)
