FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (October 29, 2021) – The Ocean Alexander 35R received the Best of Show award by NBC Sports at the 62nd Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Produced by Informa Markets and owned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, FLIBS is the largest in-water boat show in the world.
The megayacht, which measures approximately 117 feet in length, is emblematic of the Ocean Alexander ethos, which is known for its unrivalled set of exterior spaces for socializing and entertaining, and defining what the enhanced yachting lifestyle is all about.
“We are thrilled to have been selected as the Best of Show winner at this year’s boat show,” said Sally Doleski, Vice President of Marketing with Ocean Alexander. “The Ocean Alexander 35R represents the pinnacle of our Revolution series and we are excited that our megayacht was recognized for its distinctive manufacturing, stunning modern and sleek exterior design, as well as its outstanding feature-rich interior layout and detailing.”
The Ocean Alexander 35R measures close to 117 feet and is part of the brand’s Revolution series. This model shares some characteristics with other Ocean Alexander yachts from the Legend series, offering a true “quad deck” design, a flybridge deck, the most expansive beach club layout, and a huge forward lounging and sun bed area. The 35R’s sky lounge includes a tremendous deck area with a separate dining table that can accommodate up to 10 guests along with a lounging area composed of custom designed sofas which can be stacked and easily stowed when the tender is placed on board.
“The 35R from Ocean Alexander is a magnificent example of the luxury megayachts and high-end exhibitors that make FLIBS a leading boat show across the world,” said Andrew Doole, President of U.S. Boat Shows with Informa Markets. “We are thrilled to have the 35R as the Best of Show winner at this year’s boat show for all visitors to enjoy.”
The Best of Show award is given to innovative debut boat models on display at FLIBS that embody a variety of elements, including performance, design, technology, and architecture. The winner was selected by an elite panel of independent judges including Captain Dave Marciano of Wicked Tuna; Ricky Carmichael, Motorcross Superstar; Paul Tracy, former Indy Car driver and current Indy Car analyst; Captain Jo-Ann Burdian, Captain of the U.S. Coast Guard, Sector Miami; and Inter Miami CF Midfielder, Victor Ulloa.
FLIBS and the Best of Show award presentation will be featured on its own 1-hour special to showcase the largest in-water boat show and some of the latest vessels leading the way in innovative design. Commentated by Townsend Bell, Leigh Diffey, and Kristen Beat, the show will air on Sunday, October 31st at 10 pm EST on NBC Sports.
The Ocean Alexander 35R will be on display at FLIBS at the Face Dock, 6C.
